Stowe Veterinary Centre is proud to be a member of the Federation of Independent Veterinary Practices (FIVP), a not-for-profit of independently-owned veterinary practices.
FIVP represents the interests and promotes the values of independent veterinary practices. Its members are independent, locally owned practices that place owners and their pets at the heart of everything they do.
What is an independent veterinary practice?
Independent veterinary practices seek to build on the hard work of previous generations. They continue to be owned and run by the veterinary surgeons, nurses and managers who work at the practice.
The veterinary professionals involved are committed to making decisions in the best interests of the animals under their care. Their obligations to shareholders (themselves) cannot conflict with this.
Independent practices are best placed to ensure that any income generated is invested in facilities, equipment, staff and the local communities they serve. The majority are true social enterprises.
