Microchipping

Many pets go missing every year. If this should happen to your pet, there is a simple and reliable way to increase your chances of being reunited with one another.

A small electronic microchip (the size of a grain of rice) is simply implanted between the shoulder blades of your pet. This can be done at any time, however, it is usually offered to you when your pet is being neutered or vaccinated.

Your pet’s information and your contact details are stored and continually updated on our database. Should your pet be found, it can be scanned and traced back to you, quickly and easily.

Microchipping of dogs became a legal requirement in England, Scotland and Wales on 6th April 2016.

Pet cats aged over 20 weeks must be microchipped by 10th June 2024. If your cat has not been microchipped you may receive a £500 fine.
